District 6 had three teams playing today in the 2023 PIAA State Basketball Championship Quarterfinals. Only one of these teams won and will advance to the Final 4. D6 now 3 teams alive in the championships.
Penn Cambria boys (AAA) beat D10-1 Franklin 61-53. Penn Cambria (24-5) will now face D7-1 Deer Lakes (20-8) on Tuesday at a time and place TBD.
D6-1 Williamsburg girls (A) lost to D7-1 Union 43-37. Williamsburg ends their great season 28-2.
D6-1 State College boys (6A) lost to D1-2 Spring-Ford 45-39. State College ends their wonderful season 25-3.
Penn Cambria boys joins the 2 girls teams from the Heritage Conference, Homer-Center and River Valley, as the only D6 teams to make the Final 4 of the 2023 PIAA State Basketball Championships. Homer-Center and River Valley will play Monday and Penn Cambria will play Tuesday.

Brian Ingalls is the owner/operator of Pa Sports History. Brian was a multi sport athlete for United High School in Armagh, Pa. Shortly after graduation, Brian joined the military and spent 6 years in the U.S. Army. After his military service, Brian moved back to the United school district. Brian and his wife, Susan, have four children. All four children were/still are involved in high school sports.
Brian has spent most of his life involved with high school sports and has spent the past 20 years researching and collecting schedules, results, and stats for high school sports mainly in the District 6 area.
