The first round of wrestling at the PIAA AA State Tournament is in the books. The team race is basically between 2 teams Notre Dame-GP (67 pts) and Saucon Valley ( 61pts). Third place Faith Christian Academy ( 34pts) is too far back to catch the top two teams.
D6 AA had a few heart breaking losses in the quarterfinals. Easton Toth (Forest Hills) gave up a late Takedown to lose 4-3. Landon Bainey (West Branch) couldn't secure a Takedown in the 3rd period and lost 3-1. Suds Dubler (Glendale) lost a 2-1 decision. D6 AA did 3 wrestlers win in the quarterfinals, Coen Bainey (Bald Eagle Area), Jackson Arrington (Forest Hills), and Zeke Dubler (Glendale) have secured a spot in the Semifinals. These three have secured a spot on the podium (top 8) because they will finish in at least the top 6. The Semifinals are this evening starting at 7:30pm. D6 AA has 13 wrestlers still alive in the consolation round 3. These 13 will wrestle in the round starting at 11:45 am. These 13 will have to win this next match to secure a spot on the podium. The top 8 in each weight class medal.

106 Mason Beatty (Mount Union) will wrestle Carter Beck (NW-2/Fresh/35-6).

113 Lucas Fye (Bald Eagle Area) will wrestle Blake Sassaman (NE-3/Junior/28-6)
126 Trent Hoover (Penn Cambria) will wrestle Eli Bounds (SE-4/Junior/39-9)
138 Easton Toth (Forest Hills) will wrestle Bryson Vaughn (SE-3/Junior/37-14)
145 Ty Watson (Penns Valley) will wrestle Hayden Ward (NE-3/Junior/43-8)

Brian Ingalls is the owner/operator of Pa Sports History. Brian was a multi sport athlete for United High School in Armagh, Pa. Shortly after graduation, Brian joined the military and spent 6 years in the U.S. Army. After his military service, Brian moved back to the United school district. Brian and his wife, Susan, have four children. All four children were/still are involved in high school sports.
Brian has spent most of his life involved with high school sports and has spent the past 20 years researching and collecting schedules, results, and stats for high school sports mainly in the District 6 area.
