United Girls Cross Country End the Stinger Streak

Marion Center Girls Cross Country team hasn't lost a dual meet in 13 years.  They have won 90 consecutive dual meets in that 13 years.  The last time Marion Center Girls lost to a Heritage conference opponent was 2009.      

Tonight, that streak ended.  The United Lions Girls defeated Marion Center 25-31.  The United Girls also beat West Shamokin 19-44 to remain undefeated on the season at 6-0.  The Lions were led by Freshman Olivia Henning (21:12) who placed 2nd.  Marion Center's Senior Lydia Miller won the meet with a time of 21:07.  West Shamokin's Jasmine Lucullo finished 3rd with a time of 21:36.  The Lion's remaining four placed 4th (Sophomore Sara Gornick-21:42), 5th (Sophomore Chloe Stiles-21:58), 6th (Senior Paiton Steiner-22:13), and 12th (Freshman Hope Fischer-24:16).   After Marion Center's Miller, Marion Center placed 7th (Brooke Slade-22:54), 8th (Macie Miller-23:31),  9th (Brynnley Haggerty-23:32) and 10th (Averi Ruddock-23:58).  Marion Center Girls beat West Shamokin 19-44.    

The United Boys beat West Shamokin 17-44 but lost to Marion Center 26-30.  Marion Center Boys also beat West Shamokin 16-45.  United's Junior Colton Henning won the boys race with a time of 17:18.  United's Junior Dallas Pearce finished 3rd (18:47).  The remaining boys for United were: Freshman Luke Shepler 7th (19:46), Senior Hudson Ludwig 8th (19:53), and Junior Garin Fischer 13th (20:37). 

The Junior High results were:

Girls - United 18 Marion Center 40 and United 18 West Shamokin 49 

Boys - United 19 West Shamokin 36 and Marion Center 27 United 30

United's Payton Kolarik won the meet for the Junior High Girls with a time of 11:47.
