2023 PIAA State Championships 3/18 Results - D6 Teams

Four of the seven D6 teams were in action on Friday night.  The 4 teams were all girls teams, and two of them won to advance to the Final 4.  The two winners, both from the Heritage Conference, were Homer Center and River Valley.   Bishop McCort and Westmont Hilltop Girls ended their great seasons Friday night. 

Homer Center (AA) dominated the D1-2 Sacred Heart 51-15.  The Wildcats (23-7) will now face D2-1 Montrose (23-4) on Monday at Central Mountain HS @ 6pm.       

River Valley (AAA) also dominated their opponent by beating D7-3 Shady Side Academy 54-21.  The Panthers (28-2) will now play D7-5 Our Lady of Sacred Heart (22-7) on Monday at Kiski HS @ 7pm.  

Westmont-Hilltop girls lost to Our Lady of Sacred Heart 47-32 to end their great season at 27-3.

Bishop McCort ended their great late season surge by losing to Kennedy Catholic 60-48.  BM ends the season 16-14.  

The Williamsburg girls (A) play today at 1pm, Penn Cambria boys (AAA) play today at 2:30pm, and State College boys (6A) play at 1pm today.

Brian Ingalls is the owner/operator of Pa Sports History. Brian was a multi sport athlete for United High School in Armagh, Pa. Shortly after graduation, Brian joined the military and spent 6 years in the U.S. Army. After his military service, Brian moved back to the United school district. Brian and his wife, Susan, have four children. All four children were/still are involved in high school sports.
