Henning and Gornick lead United's Cross Country teams to victory

    United cross country teams traveled to Purchase Line to take on Purchase Line and Portage in a Heritage Conference Cross Country Tri-Meet.  Both teams won to go 4-0 in dual meets on the young season.  The girls team beat Purchase Line 23-38 and beat Portage 19-41.  The girls team was led by Freshman Sara Gornick with a time of 23:09 (1st Overall).  Sara finished ahead of Portage's Alex Chobany who placed 9th in the district and was a state qualifier last year.  The boys team beat Purchase Line 15-43 and beat Portage 22-36.  The boys team was led by Sophomore Colton Henning with a time of 18:26 (1st Overall).  Colton who was a state qualifier from last year defeated a fellow state qualifier, Portage's Gabe Corte, by 1:34.  The two other results were Purchase Line 27, Portage 30 for the girls, and Portage 23, Purchase Line 32 for the boys.  The Junior meet results were United 20, Purchase Line 39 / United 19, Portage 44 / Purchase Line 20, Portage 43 for the boys and the girls junior high results were: United 25, Portage 30 / United 13, Purchase Line 23 / Portage 22, Purchase Line 39.  

    United is at home for the United Invitational on Saturday and travels to Marion Center on 9/14 to take on Marion Center and River Valley.

Brian Ingalls

Brian Ingalls is the owner/operator of Pa Sports History. Brian was a multi sport athlete for United High School in Armagh, Pa. Shortly after graduation, Brian joined the military and spent 6 years in the U.S. Army. After his military service, Brian moved back to the United school district. Brian and his wife, Susan, have four children. All four children were/still are involved in high school sports.

Brian has spent most of his life involved with high school sports and has spent the past 20 years researching and collecting schedules, results, and stats for high school sports mainly in the District 6 area.
