Big turnout for the 2022 United Cross Country Invitational

    The 2021 United Invitational had 6 teams and 103 runners-Junior High and Varsity.  The 2022 version of the United Cross Country Invitational featured 13 teams and 193 total runners.  The Invitational featured 4 teams from District 5: Bedford, Johnstown Christian, North Star, and Windber 6 teams from District 6: Central Cambria (Junior High Only), Homer Center, Penns Manor, Purchase Line, River Valley, and United 2 teams from District 7: Derry and Ligonier Valley, and 1 team from District 9: Punxsutawney.  The teams also consisted of 3 AA teams and 10 A teams. 

    Punxsutawney runners won the Varsity girls and boys team race.  The girls team race was very close with only 5 points between Punxsutawney and Derry, and the team race was decided by the 4th and 5th runners.  Central Cambria junior high took home the team race for both the junior high races.  The individual winners were: Varsity Girls-Jane Huss a Sophomre from Derry / Varsity Boys-Joseph McKelvey a Junior from Windber / Junior High Girls-Olivia Henning an 8th Grader from United / Junior High Boys-Derek McConnell an 8th Grader from Central Cambria.  The top 3 teams for each and top 10 individuals from each are following, the full results can be found at: 2022 United Cross Country Invitational

Brian Ingalls

Brian Ingalls is the owner/operator of Pa Sports History. Brian was a multi sport athlete for United High School in Armagh, Pa. Shortly after graduation, Brian joined the military and spent 6 years in the U.S. Army. After his military service, Brian moved back to the United school district. Brian and his wife, Susan, have four children. All four children were/still are involved in high school sports.

Brian has spent most of his life involved with high school sports and has spent the past 20 years researching and collecting schedules, results, and stats for high school sports mainly in the District 6 area.
